Here are Just a Few of Our Colorado Pictures
If you've ever visited Durango, you've probably taken some Colorado pictures. We have, too. For the last twenty-three years (while I was waiting for my Minnesotan husband to get me back out here), we've taken thousands of pictures of Colorado on our yearly (or twice yearly) trips to Durango. And I love to share them. Besides, here on a website, I won't be offended if you get tired of looking at my photo album because - I won't know! So, here are a few Colorado pictures and some related pages with more pictures of Colorado mountains, and everything else you can see around here. Enjoy! Let's start with some spectacular, scenic Colorado mountain pictures. This is Andrew's Lake, just a little south of Silverton, Colorado. We never stopped to check it out until the summer of 2007. Were we glad. You can see why.

On another such trip, we visited the ghost town of Animas Forks. Not only were the buildings cool (you can see a few of them in this shot on the
Durango Colorado attractions
page), but the "artifacts" were, too. But then, I get into artsy photos.

Like this Colorado picture of a cool old ponderosa pine tree.

Or this "mundane" shot of a lowly mushroom near Henderson Lake. (I think it's so cool we have a lake named after us! Okay, it was named long before we were out here.)

Or this close up of scrub oaks leave in the fall How's that for some colorful Durango Colorado photographs?

And we can't forget how gorgeous it looks out here in our
winter pictures of Durango Colorado
, either.

Except when it's a Colorado avalanche picture... oh wait, I bet when people think of "avalanche" they don't usually mean a truck...

Even something man-made can look pretty cool with the kind of backdrops we have out here. And something like this makes our Colorado Rockies pictures more interesting than "just another shot of the mountains".

Then it's fun to back off and get a long-distance picture of Colorado, like this one, which was taken on the Animas Overlook hiking trail a long way up Junction Creek Road. It's a view back toward Durango.

Or something like this Colorado river picture - except it's not the Colorado River, it's the Animas River.

Or this shot, taken from up on the "mesa" near my mom's place (which isn't a mesa at all - just looks like it from below). It's one of our Colorado hiking pictures - of which we have many, since we love hiking out here.

And you can get artsy with scenic Colorado pictures, too, if you catch the clouds decorating the mountain slopes.

And there are always lots of trees around to frame your Colorado pictures with.

I hope you've enjoyed this brief tour of the Durango area with my Durango photos. I promise I'll post more
pictures of Durango Colorado
often! And as a special surprise, my daughter, who has gotten into making videos and putting them to music, might be induced to create a short Colorado motion picture. Just don't hold your breath. It could take some time...See you next time you're here!
